Video Journalism LaunchPad Project

Assignment Details

At University Prep, the high school I attended, LaunchPad is a required three-week, real-world experience where students step off campus to explore their passions and potential career interests. Students are paired with a mentor in a related field to help guide them and provide professional advice. Students are meant to document their process and have a final project that showcases what they have learned. You can find my documentation by clicking on the Instagram icon.

Jody Hall’s Story: Owner of Cupcake Royale and Wunderground Coffee

For my LaunchPad, I took a video journalism course and learned how to produce, film, write, and edit a good video journalism story. I made this video about Jody Hall, an LGBTQ+ business owner of two successful businesses in Seattle.

Everyone has a Story

For this video, I was assigned to work with another student to explore downtown Seattle and find a story to make, all within a couple of hours.
